3dsp sources
Siempre que encuentro barreras de hardware referentes a soporte o drivers para Linux lo primero que hago es tratar de comunicarme con el fabricante. A veces obtengo respuesta, a veces no.
Esta vez le toca a 3dsp y no puedo decir que sea una solución, pero si al menos una luz al final del camino.
Pego mi mail (en inglés) y a continuación la respuesta del soporte técnico:
Dear Sir,
I am writing in the name of the Linux and Free Software´s comunity to ask if you could send me the SOURCE CODES which are important to the hardware´s drivers which is maked by yourself,of course, if the licence which protect them let it.
The SOURCE CODES are very important to have the different types of distributions which are based in the FREE SOFTWARE of the drivers for each operative sistem´s version. In this way, the support of the instalations of these distributions are going to be more easily and they can safe the compatibility of them in the future.
Also, I want to said I am very greatfull for your support to UBUNTU.

En español y resumiendo lo que hago es pedir el código fuente (para poder compilar los drivers), fundamentando el soporte a otras distribuciones y de paso agradezco el dado a Ubuntu.

Una vez mas, resumiendo:
Quisiéramos entregarte el código fuente, pero es difícil de mantener y soportar a raiz de esto creo creemos q el dia de abrir el codigo fuente sera pronto
Entonces, por ahora NO hay código fuente para nadie, sólo nos queda esperar…

Es una lastima que no se pueda conseguir el source de este driver ya que podria mejorarse, por ejemplo, el tema de que si o si hay que usar el Wifi radar y en mi caso funciona bastante mal (pierde la señal ni bien me alejo del router), y es el unico motivo por el cual aun no puedo dejar de usar Windows en esta netbook (Bangho 1000). En fin, esperaremos a ver si salen con algo nuevo. Muy bueno el blog, me ha servido muchisimo a la hora de instalar Ubuntu.
